Responsibilities
  • Facilitates the complete onboarding process for both craft and staff employees
  • Recruits employees by posting job ads, scheduling interviews, checking references, and drafting offer letters
  • Assists with labour relations matters pertaining to PRHPC employees, unions and labour relations associations
  • Assists in developing any labour policies, practices and procedures, development and implementation
  • Responding to employee inquiries on company policies, procedures, payroll, benefits, site and camp rules
  • Provides investigation support if required
  • Draft communications to employees
  • Create and maintain archive and current file system
  • Preparation of promotion, transfers, salary increase, employment confirmation, ect letters
  • Receive, send distribute and track mail, correspondence, courier (local/international)
  • Scan/copy/bind/shred documents
  • Other related duties as assigned
 
Essential Functions
  • Maintain databases for recruitment of craft/trades employees
  • HRIS data entry, maintenance, and audit
  • Assists with monthly HR/ LR reporting and analytics  
  • Up-dates the organizational chart
  • Setting up and managing various department procedures, reporting templates, and tracking processes (i.e. probationary periods, vacation entitlements)
  • Administrative Support to HR/LR team

Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
 

  • Knowledge of HR/LR best practices in terms of information management and data base development
  • Knowledge of common HR/LR functions and administrative support to these functions
  • Skilled at data processing, building excel spreadsheets, developing PowerPoint presentations
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and confidentiality skills
  • Able to manage a high volume of transactions and multiple stakeholder interests
  • Able to provide innovation to HR/LR standard administrative procedures
  • Strong customer service orientation and a desire to promote good employee relations
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and interact professionally with all levels of staff and management
  • Results oriented individual with the ability to proactively manage multiple priorities and time lines

 
Experience/ Qualifications 
 
Minimum of 3 years of administrative experience. A minimum of one year experience within a Human Resources/ Labour Relations department is required

  • Minimum of Grade 12 or GED. Registration in or completion of a Human Resources Management degree/diploma program from a recognized post-secondary institution preferred
  • Knowledge of Provincial and Federal labour relations practices, particularly in relation to the construction industry
  • Experience working in construction or industrial HR/LR an asset

OR
 

  • A local Fort St. John resident, that is a recent graduate from a Human Resources University or College program  


Please Note: This is a site based position located at the Site C Dam in Fort St. John, British Columbia. Preference will be given to qualified, local candidates. However, we will also consider fly in/out candidates based out of Vancouver, Nanaimo, Kelowna, Calgary, or Edmonton. Rotational employees are required to work a 14/7 rotation; flights and camp accommodations are provided while on shift.
