Job Description:

Primary Objective of the Quantity Surveyor is to work as part of the Commercial team to deliver a successful project on time, on budget to the quality specifications established in the contract. 
Responsibilities
-  Assisting Commercial Director with client and subcontractor management.
-  Overseeing and ensuring compliant and commercial reporting internally and to the client.
-  Measurement, valuation, negotiation of claims and change orders.
-  Identify areas of contractual risk and minimize that risk.
-  Developing claims and dispute resolution strategies.
-  Timely production of commercial management reports.
-  Preparation of Project Management Reports, specifically in relation to cost, cost forecasting, changes, claims, contractual stats and risk.
-  Valuation of Sub-Contractors applications.
-  Processing Payments to Sub-Contractors.
-  Dispute analysis.
-  General Contract administration.
-  Weekly/monthly cost reporting to client.
-  Provision of timely, accurate and concise contract management and cost monitoring information together with providing contractual advice to Project Managers on contractual and commercial elements of a project.
-  Identification of areas of contractual risk and minimizing that risk.
-  Timely production of interim and final accounts, and commercial management reports.
-  Work with Project Managers in the preparation of Project Management Reports, specifically in relation to cost, cost forecasting, accruals, provisions, contractual status and risk.

Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-  Good hands on technical, communication, organizational, supervisory and planning skills.
-  Working knowledge of contract language and legal requirements of contracts.
Excellent people, leadership and organizational skills.
-  Advanced understanding of contractual, commercial, financial and Project controls.

Experience /Qualifications:
-  Minimum of 5 years experience with major contractors.
-  Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
-  MRICS/ MCIOB desirable.
