Job Description:

The Invasive Species and Reclamation QEP will perform field and office duties to ensure the Site C Clean Energy Project is compliant with the environmental approvals (Licences, permits, authorizations, etc.) and/ or environmental protection plans (EPPs). 

Responsibilities
-  Collect, interpret and report invasive plant field data and treatment efforts
-  Complete vegetation inventories and determine rate of vegetative success
-  Directly interact with subcontractors and the client to obtain desired results
-  Determine if additional restoration activities are required, carryout and document efforts
-  Determine the size of area to be restored, calculate seed and document all restoration materials used ensure reclamation efforts are as per contractual requirements
-  
Project, calculate and order revegetation materials required for reclamation
-  Work with contracts department to ensure all additional work expenses are captured
-  Complete Restoration and Revegetation Plans, Annual Vegetation Summary Report, Protocols and training documents
-  Write and or review sections of the EMP, EPP’s and other documents including RFI’s, letters, and DFR’s to be submitted to the client
-  Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-  Strong field and office experience
-  Proven problem-solving abilities
-  GIS (QGIS) experience would be an asset
-  Relied on to provide advice within his or her area of expertise through demonstrated suitable education, experience, accreditation and knowledge relevant to his or her field
-  Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication and organizational skills
-  Proficient in the writing of technical reports, data entry, data compilation and the management of databases
-  Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)

Experience/ Qualifications
-  Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma that specializes in a relevant applied science or technology
-  A member in good standing (Professional Agrologist) registered with the appropriate professional association in British Columbia
-  Minimum 2 years’ experience in respective area of expertise, including experience in the environmental planning and monitoring of large construction projects
-  Previous experience in invasive plant control and treatment
-  Ability to characterize soils
-  Pre-site assessment and / or schedule A Assessment experience
-  Easily identify Provincially and Regionally invasive plant species at various life stages
-  A valid drivers’ license is required
