Job Description:

Hourly rate:  $$31.50 for 40 Hours/Week

Employment conditions: Early morning, morning, day, evening, weekend. As soon as possible.

Transportation/Travel lnformation:  Willing to travel for extended periods.  Willing to travel overnight.  Must have a valid driver's licence.  Ability to drive manual transmission vehicle. 
 
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities:  Attention to detail.  Handling heavy loads.  Repetitive tasks.  Sitting.  Overtime required.  Physically demanding.

Work Location Information:  Staff accommodation provided.  Various locations.

Job Requirements:

Language: English
Education:  College/CEGEP or equivalent experience
Experience:  2 years to less than 3 years
-  Own Tools/Equipment Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat, Tools
-  Security and Safety, Valid passport, Medical exam, Driver's validity licence check, Driving record check (abstract), Drug test, Criminal record check.
 
Personal Suitability:  Excellent written communication.  Reliability.  Organized.  Excellent oral communication.  Flexibility.

Additional Skills:  Mountain driving expertise.  Professionalism in customer service
 
Communication Systems Experience:  Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, Citizens band (CB) radio
 
Documentation Knowledge:  Driver logbook.  Trip reports.  Maintenance and repair reports.  Accident or incident reports.  Dangerous goods occurrence reports.  Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip)
 
Specific Skills:  Load and unload goods.  Transport and handle dangerous goods.  Perform brake adjustments.  Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.  Record cargo information.  Hours of service.  Distance travelled and fuel consumption.  Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.  Perform pre-trip, en route and post trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle.  Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.  Receive and relay information to central dispatch.

Type of Trucking and Equipment:  Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles ), Tractor-trailer A train, Tractor-trailer B train, Liquid bulk
 
Weight Handling:  More than 45 kg (100 lbs)
 
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- Class 1/1FIA Licence (semi trailer trucks), Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness (H2S) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate. Driver's License (Class 1 or A)
