Job Description:

The Health & Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for the development of a streamlined health & wellness program across Friendship Centre services and increasing client access to cultural and health & wellness related support through the coordination of focused workshops/presentations, individualized client intakes, and partnership development. 
  • Friendship Centre liaison between Centre programs, partner organizations, health professionals and community 
  • Coordination of the development and delivery of cultural and health & wellness related workshops/presentations        Client intake and referral 
  • Increased awareness and access for clients to culturally appropriate programs and services 
  • Support to on-site programs through coordination and delivery of health, wellness & cultural focused curriculum 

Job Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Social Services, Health or Recreation field of study or combination of other relative training and/or experience pertaining to health and wellness.
  • Experience in facilitation and/or direct delivery of programs/services benefiting children, youth and families an asset
  • Some flexibility in scheduling may be required to accommodate seasonal programs & services or scheduled events
  • Valid Drivers’ Licence (Class 4 an asset), and reliable vehicle
  • Familiar with existing community resources and local Aboriginal history, culture and traditions
Full time position (35 hours/week).  Wage commiserate with experience.  Excellent Benefits Package.
