Executive Assistant

Job Description


Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this position provides executive assistance to the Regional District Board of Directors, CAO and senior staff.

The preferred candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a personable attitude and professional work style, and the proven ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information and documents. They will have the ability to take precise minutes, have strong written and verbal communication skills and be proficient in MS Office Suite.

Duties of the position include:
Preparing confidential correspondence and documents;
Maintaining human resources files and the employee service award program;
Coordinating travel arrangements; preparing agendas and transcribing minutes;
Making meeting arrangements;
Composing correspondence; and
Carrying out special projects and research.


The ideal candidate will have post-secondary courses in administration or a related discipline plus a minimum three (3) years’ experience providing executive level support, preferably in a unionized local government setting.

A Certificate in Local Government administration with a working knowledge of relevant legislation such as FOIPPA, Local Government Act and Community Charter is preferable. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
