The Northern Co-Hort Research Assistant is based in Fort St John, BC and will report to the Northern Co-Hort Program Coordinator. The Research Assistant will: 
  • Work with the Program Coordinator to execute community research plan on agriculture in the northeast;
  • Develop partnerships with local community groups;
  • Plan and execute community outreach and research events;
  • Ensure materials for all activities are gathered and ready for use;
  • Perform risk assessments daily, weekly, and as necessary to keep all participants and staff safe; Complete all mandatory reports and participate in weekly meetings;
  • Represent NEAT and the Northern Co-Hort Program professionally at all times;
  • Be a positive team player
  • Complete other duties as assigned

The Aboriginal Head Start Program is based on six core components: Aboriginal Culture and Language, Education and School Readiness, Health Promotion, Nutrition, Social Support, and Parent/Guardian Involvement.

We are looking for an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our Sas Natsadle Aboriginal Head Start team that will work collaboratively with Early Childhood Educators/Assistants and support staff. This is a full-time permanent position.
This role will include, but not be limited to:
-  Working collaboratively in planning and organizing activities for 2 ½ to 4 year old pre-school
   children, including daily, weekly, monthly and yearly lesson planning
-  Leading and monitoring children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual,
   physical and emotional   growth
-  Assist with program accountabilities and requirements
-  Assist with scheduling and conducting parent-teacher interviews
-  Share in the responsibility of the day-to-day operations of the Head Start Program, including
   maintaining a safe and sanitary environment, supervising children on daily bus runs, going on
   the field trips, conducting learning circles, traditional meal preparation, conducting student
   assessments and observations records, and other activities as required under the direction of
   the Head Start Coordinator
-  Attend and participate in PAC, staff and case management meetings, and professional
-  Assist with K-Readiness Program

The key responsibilities of the Youth Services Support Worker will include, but are not limited to:
-  Creating a safe and inclusive space at our facility for youth aged 11 to 18 years of age. 
-  Maintaining client tracking logs, in accordance with the Ministry of Child and Family
   Development (MCFD).
-  Provide outcome oriented programming, ensuring that youth are offered a variety of engaging
-  Work one-on-one with youth to support them culturally, socially and mentally.
-  Facilitating parenting skill and youth life skills programs.
-  Proposal writing and fundraising.
-  Plan a minimum of three youth-led events.
-  Building effective partnerships with First Nations communities, Ministry for Child and Family
   Development, Youth Probation, Child and Mental Health, local School District, and other
   Aboriginal organizations and Social Service agencies.
-  Conduct monitoring and assessment activities with children and youth in the program
-  Supporting the Manager and other departments, as required.
