<![CDATA[Construction Manager 2 - Site C]]> Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
·  Reports to the BC Hydro Construction Manager on site.
·  Directs and supervises a mixed unit of BC Hydro Construction officers.
·  Supports staff and/or external consultants in the fields of construction management, contract management and commissioning.
·  Ensures that all phases of construction work and associated activities related to the Site C project are planned and carried out efficiently and effectively in terms of safety, quality, schedule, cost and scope.
·  Provides leadership and ensures continuous employee safety measures are in effect.
·  Ensures that Construction Management Deliverables are achieved regarding daily, weekly and monthly project reporting.
·  Provides technical guidance where applicable and ensures adequate technical reviews are completed as required.
·  Assists in the development of business unit objectives, quality assurance standards, performance measurements and assists in managing the construction management division operational performance to meet these objectives.
·  Conducts "Constructability Reviews" of projects throughout various phases in the project life-cycle and reviews contract tender documents, as required.
·  Provides input to the Community Relations process as it pertains to construction site activities and issues.
·  Assists in and negotiates contemplated work changes, Change Orders and Change Directives.
·  Assists the Contract Manager in the resolution of claims on BC Hydro's behalf.
·  Conducts daily construction site visits to provide support to employees/external resources and to ensure all applicable protocols, procedures, policies, standards, regulations, etc. are being met.
·  This location is eligible for a Remote Incentive of 12%. Remote Incentives are paid bi-weekly to Full-Time Regular employees working in eligible remote locations.
·  This location is eligible for Extended Health Care Medical Travel Benefit. The Extended Health Care Medical Travel Benefit is extended to Full-Time Regular, Part-Time Regular and Full-Time Temporary employees who are permanently working in eligible remote locations.

Position Summary:  Working under the direction of the Supervisor or designate the position of Insulator will support operations by utilizing the skills of a Certified Insulator to apply insulating materials to pipes or ductwork, or other mechanical systems to help control and maintain temperature also to reduce noise and the chance of fire. The Insulators will work on a wide variety of commercial and industrial sites, often in confined conditions with relatively dangerous substances.

Primary Functions:
-  Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
-  Fit insulation around obstructions, and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required.
-  Determine the amounts and types of insulation needed, and methods of installation, based on factors such as location, surface shape, and equipment use. 
-  Install sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage.
-  Apply, remove, and repair insulation on industrial equipment, pipes, ductwork, or other mechanical systems such as heat exchangers, tanks, and vessels, to help control noise and maintain temperatures.
-  Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives, and scissors.
-  Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces to ensure conformance with specifications.
-  Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the insulating trade.
-  Support site maintenance functions as required
-  Plan layout and installation of fabricated metal/steel components in construction/industrial setting
-  Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair insulating materials in accordance with specifications
-  Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous
-  Maintains a safe working environment by following safety rules and regulations
-  Will perform other project related duties as assigned by the Supervisor or designate
