Reporting to the Construction Manager, the Crusher Engineer provides technical engineering support to construction management personnel to ensure crush and batch plant work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and drawings. They are responsible for planning, liaising with designers, sub-contractors, quantity tracking, and reporting. They will also provide construction discipline support to other departments such as Quality, Safety, and Environmental, daily construction reporting, and assist Superintendents with crush and batch plant management.


  • Assist Superintendents in the creation of Job Safety Analyses and administration of the operations aspects of the project safety manual
  • Quality Control tracking to ensure compliance with the Specifications (testing frequencies, material approvals, a notice of inspections, etc.)
  • Review and Submit Labour and Equipment time cards
  • Track costs and productivities to identify trends
  • Submit weekly quantities to cost controls
  • Assist Superintendents with long-range planning including identifying and ordering; Labour, Equipment, and Material Requirements. (Fill out and Submit Labour Requisitions, Flight Requisitions, POR’s, Preparation of operations schedules (3-week)
  • Ensure Spare Parts Warehouse is catalogued and tracked
  • Ensure Crushing and Batching tool crib/ rigging sea-can is catalogued and tracked
  • Monitor and identify maintenance trends on plants (document repairs)
  • Manage and Track Subcontractors/ Material Suppliers


  • Must possess effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, and the ability to coordinate the efforts of others to accomplish objectives
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong cost management and planning skills
  • Ability to work productively with minimal supervision
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word
  • Ability to interpret drawings

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Civil Engineer Technologist or Civil/Mining Engineer Degree
  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role in Heavy Civil Construction
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence

Please Note: This is a site-based position located at the Site C Dam in Fort St. John, British Columbia. Preference will be given to qualified, local candidates. However, we will also consider flying in/out candidates based out of Vancouver, Nanaimo, Kelowna, Calgary, or Edmonton. Rotational employees are required to work a 14/7 rotation; flights and camp accommodations are provided while on shift.
