Position: LNG Plant Operator| Rotation Shift (Contract Position)

Start Date: Dec 17, 2021

The Opportunity: The LNG Plant Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring and maintenance of the natural gas liquefaction process system for the K2 LNG Plant in Fort Nelson, BC. This position will be in rotation with a second LNG Plant Operator. The rotation shift will encompass all holidays and weekends.

Essential Functions & Job Specification
• Responsible for ensuring, maintaining, and driving safe & efficient operating practices within the LNG facility.
• Ensures company policy is always followed in accordance with the Company ISO9001: 2015 Quality Management System.
• Responsible to report any safety issues, incidents, or gaps in the Quality Management System
• Responsible for coordinating and delivering safe and efficient loading with customers.
• Site Orientations & training if/when required.
• Monitors plant operating conditions of the LNG plant from the control room; responds to alarms, recognizes operational problems; analyzes and adjusts process to optimize plant performance.
• Performs regularly scheduled maintenance work, following the Company’s systems and protocols.
• Carry out daily operation routines and upkeep of the gas plant.
• Carry out routine repairs, maintenance and operating tasks as required.
• Maintain accurate logs, records and reports of plant maintenance and operations in a proactive manner.
• Must maintain records on Company system to ensure compliance with provincial, federal, and Company policies and regulations.
• Assist in policy writing.
• Assist in major mechanical maintenance of the plant as required..
• Supervise contract personnel on site as directed by Management.
• Assist in Emergency Response and Environmental awareness
• Takes price in maintaining plant upkeep and appearance.


• Minimum 5 years’ experience in LNG or energy process plant operations
• Mechanically inclined preferred
• Understanding of industry regulatory requirements
• High School Diploma at minimum
• Collaborative, team player. Willingness to roll up your sleeves are required.
• Strategic minded and curious with ability to understand all aspects of the operations.
• Detail oriented and able to spot errors.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Positive & safety minded.
• Effectively train and mentor others while being able to lead in operational situations while engaging all stakeholders.
• Proficiency with computers including MSOffice applications is preferred.
• Emergency Response Experience (ICS100)
